Making Roadmap Changes with Zero Friction
Changes in schedules are inevitable and can create a headache for any manager. But not with Deep Planner. Use these effective strategies to avoid friction when adjusting roadmaps:
- When executing, pull work in shorter time spans. For teams, when pulling work from the roadmap, use short time spans, such as sprints, rather than the full schedule. This facilitates making changes in the future and avoids work disruptions.
 - When a new work is added, maintain the tickets execution order. While creating a schedule the system uses the desired order of tickets execution. When adding a ticket, ensure that in-process or complete items remain earlier in that order. You can control this by tracking the value in the Order column of the Epics table when editing the timebox.
 - When the tickets are delayed, use the “Shift Dates” feature to replan all delayed items to future. This feature adjusts the planning baseline date of all features that are in the status “Delayed” to the current day and, therefore, makes the schedule up to date and relevant. Additionally, the baseline date can be set for each ticket individually by setting the “Start no earlier than” parameter value in the Schedule tab of the right sidebar.
